Cathy: Hot Flushes
My first acupuncture treatment was about 10 years ago. I was in my late forties, feeling very low in energy and suffering from various peri-menopausal symptoms, as well as regular niggles and injuries as the result of being a regular runner. I was reluctant to resort to traditional allopathic medical solutions, preferring to try something more holistic, and a friend suggested that acupuncture might help. Acupuncture works for me in two different ways. It alleviates particular symptoms; for example if my knees are a bit painful from running, a treatment will help. A few years ago, I had a bad case of Achilles tendonitis and acupuncture definitely helped the healing process. Acupuncture is also the only thing I have tried that helps with reducing hot flushes. Acupuncture also works in a more general, holisitic way, improving my general energy level and feeling of wellbeing. Initially, I had weekly or fortnightly treatments, but now I find that a monthly treatment is sufficient. Therese is a very skilled therapist and has treated me for a variety of conditions over the years. I would thoroughly recommend acupuncture as an effective, holistic personal treatment. Cathy
I have had acupuncture from Therese on several occasions. She has helped me in the lead up to my child's birth and recovering afterwards when I suffered from deep vein thrombosis. It has been a wonderful energy boast and opportunity to relax. I highly recommend acupuncture with Therese. She is a lovely person who is really approachable and friendly.
I started having acupuncture in 2007 when I was on the waiting list for IVF treatment. Trying to get pregnant for many months had been stressful and I found after each treatment that I would feel more relaxed and calm. I also slept much better. Once the IVF treatment started I increased the number of sessions with Therese, this helped to keep me focused on doing the best I possibly could to maintain a positive approach and increase the chances of becoming pregnant. Although the first attempt did not work, the second did and I became pregnant in autumn 2008. I continued with the treatment during the pregnancy, and after my son was born. Towards the end of the pregnancy I developed a liver complication and again acupuncture sessions provided a tonic to the symptoms I was experiencing such as intense itching. Acupuncture has also relieved other symptoms such as hay fever, stiff neck and shoulders, lack of energy. Overall I would say that acupuncture has been enormously beneficial to my general health and well-being. I will definitely be continuing with it for the foreseeable future. Therese makes you feel at ease and is friendly and interested in what’s going on for you in your life.
